MARTIN BELL

Business Manager

Martin is responsible for the overall management and operation of the Practice and, from a patient perspective, oversees issues relating to staff and the building. If the Assistant Manager (Nicki) is not available, Martin is also available to discuss suggestions or receive complaints.

Nicki is responsible for the day to day running of the practice, ensuring everything runs smoothly and effectively. Nicki is available to discuss patient concerns and complaints.

Our GP Registrars are pursuing a career in General Practice. The Registrars change every 6 months.

They spend 4 months in general practice after 12-18 months of hospital Practice.

Lynsey is responsible for the day to day running of the administrative team, overseeing daily tasks and offering ongoing training and support. Lynsey also manages the clinical rota for the nursing team and GP's, as well as other important administrative tasks.

Reception Team

Our team of receptionists are here to help you. They answer the phone, man the front desk, deal with enquiries and book a wide range of appointments. Their job is very demanding so please be patient. When contacting the practice, the Receptionist may ask you for a few details; all our reception staff are fully trained in Care Navigation and ask these questions to ensure you are signposted to the most appropriate clinician or local service. All medical information, which is held on your behalf, is governed by the Data Protection Act and staff are vigilant in ensuring that only essential information is made known to other practice staff.

Ashley is responsible for ensuring all pharmacy related administrative tasks are carried out daily. This includes managing your prescription requests, booking medication reviews and booking certain long term condition reviews. As well as this, Ashley is a trained phlebotomist and has a clinic every Wednesday afternoon.

Beverly has a specialist interest in diabetes.

Community Nurse for the Frail and Elderly cohort of patients, offering support to patients who are unable to attend the surgery.

Practice Nurses

Practice Nurses are fully trained in a wide range of skills including immunisations, health promotion, contraception and management of long-term conditions e.g. advice on diet and lifestyle choices, coronary heart disease, hypertension, asthma, diabetes, smoking cessation and obesity. Practice Nurses can extend their skills at Diploma Level and see many patients who previously would have seen the Doctor. The Nursing Team run various Nurse-led clinics for diabetes, asthma, coronary heart disease and COPD as well as providing general nursing services, dressings, removal of sutures and blood tests.

The Nurse Associate role provides a hands-on, person-centered care as part of our nursing team, bridging the gap between our healthcare assistant and practice nurses. Louise can see an array of patients for things such as certain injections, blood tests, NHS health checks, cervical screening and ECG's.

Healthcare Assistant

Healthcare Assistants are non-registered Nursing staff who assist in patient care and Practice related duties, as directed by and under the supervision of a Registered Healthcare Professional (including Lead Practice Nurse, Practice Manager and GPs). Healthcare Assistants work collaboratively with the General Practice Team to meet the needs of patients, and provide essential task-orientated services like taking blood samples (phlebotomy), processing specimens, sometimes performing ECGs (to measure heart function) and spirometry (to measure lung function). They play a crucial role in supporting the Clinical Team.
